The location and home was exactly as described and the host was great to work with. The kayaks were great to use and we saw some manatees! However, prospective guests should be aware that there are Confederate flags displayed on 2 neighboring properties. As a group with Black travelers, this made us feel uncomfortable and uncertain about the neighborhood’s inclusivity. While this is no fault of the host, it is an important factor for others to consider when booking.

Another great year at Doe Key! We always enjoy coming down. The location is amazing and Susan is very helpful and communicative.

Great place!

Discover a hidden gem in a charming town! Nestled in the heart of old Homosassa, this location invites you to explore, embrace nature, and unwind. It’s an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle. Although many places close on Mondays, our spirit of adventure led us to uncover delightful treasures in this nature-loving town! We experienced the joy of learning to catch crab and stumbled upon a lovely park with a fantastic fishing spot, where playful otters call home!

Susan’s place was very peaceful. A few restaurants in walking-distance, easy access to kayaks and the river, and multiple places to hangout outside. If you want to get away, see nature, and relax -this is the place.

House was right on the canal to the river. We kayaked to the park and saw manatees. House was very clean and had everything you need.

This was my third time staying at Susan’s home and I will stay there again! The home is very clean, private and comfortable. Host is very responsive and accommodating. I would recommend this home to anyone traveling to Homossasa.

We had a great stay, fire pit was wonderful during cold spell. Plenty of room for all when it rained. TV room is large and super comofortalbe. We did utilize the games that had for the guests. We will come back!

We brought our three kids and two dogs here and had a great time. Very stocked kitchen, we cook a lot and not every Airbnb is set up for cooking. Enjoyed Shelly’s Fish Market to pick up locally caught fish and The Freezer. This house is tucked in a quiet corner of Homosassa. Which we loved, we are from Chicagoland area and were looking for a place where crazy traffic and tons of people isn’t an issue. Not always easy to find in Florida. Loved the local mom and pop shops. The UTV was a nice way to get around. Very relaxed. If you are looking for big beaches and a bustling town this area probably isn’t for you. We loved the nature and the kayaks. We will definitely be back.

Doe key is a great spot! Close to lots of restaurants but the property itself is quiet and well kept. We enjoyed taking the UTV out for drives. Susan is very responsive with any questions. 10/10 for this property!

The location was amazing! Definitely a little tricky to find in the dark though. There are not many street lights in old homosassa. The weekend we stayed there was an art festival with roads closed. I would advise to checkin during sunlight. With the time change this wasn’t possible for our arrival. A friendly police officer escorted us to the location. The next morning we checked out the property. The inside was very comfortable, clean and the locks worked as described. The beds are super comfy with one bed having an adjustable bed. The AC works brilliantly and we used one of the twin comforters to keep warm while watching movies. Great washer and dryer as well as dishwasher We messaged regarding the side by side as it did not start after the first use and they responded that they would look into it. We used the kayaks and enjoyed the canals. Very easy launch onsite however the kayaks were put away in the garage. It was a bit to get them out and down to the canal. We would definitely

Our first trip to Homosassa. Gorgeous place and very private. We felt like we were in the middle of a forest. My 17’ skiff fit perfectly down the boat ramp and under the bridge. Super close to restaurants also.

Very quiet area, but was close to some great local hangouts! House was very nice a s spacious! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful location. We are family 8 with 2 school age children and 2 dogs . There was enough space for all of us . Our dogs weee able to run the property and loved playing in the water. The children slept on the sofa. This house had 5 kayaks the kids really enjoyed kayaking through the river channel . We did ride atv once around the neighborhood. We also did fish off the dock only caught catfish . We loved neighborhood close to local restaurants and bars . The only downfall was bathroom location ; you have to go thru the bedrooms to get to either bathroom . ( the shower is in between ) when you have 8 it gets a bit tricky Thank you for everything our family enjoyed 😊

We most definitely enjoyed our stay at doe key. It was very nice and clean. The beds were super comfy. The kayaks were a huge plus. Next time we come to Homosassa we will be staying here again, for sure.

We have stayed at the Doe Key location twice and have enjoyed both stays!The house is spacious, well decorated and very clean. The location is fantastic for enjoying many local bars/restaurants/entertainment. The added bonus of the side by side sets this apart from other area airbnbs. A word of caution to large groups would be in regards to the bathroom situation. There are 2 toilets but they can only be accessed by going through the two bedrooms. This can be a bit awkward in the middle of the night. Also, both toilets need some attention. The toilet seat is broken on one toilet and there seems to been plumbing issues with both. Neither toilet flushes properly and the tanks don’t always fill or run continuously. Additionally, one of the mattresses is a foam top and requires a foot stool to get on the bed because it is so tall. The mattress also has a low spot in the middle making it uncomfortable. Overall, these inconveniences were minor and we would not hesitate to return!

We thoroughly enjoyed at the DoeKey house. It was a great location for our goal to see the manatees and kayak (Homosassa is halfway between Crystal River and Weeki Wachee). My children loved fishing off the dock (we rode the UTV up the road to pick up some bait) and seeing the birds! Everything was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We also appreciated that when we had a (minor) TV issue, the host was very responsive! The house itself is a very good value and we loved the area including kayaking Weeki Wachee, the Homosassa Springs park, eating at the Crab Plant, etc. We don’t love a memory foam mattress but it was a very nice bed for most people (adjustable/tempurpedic style).

We had a great time. House was great, clean and in a perfect location. We enjoyed the local pubs that were so close. The crystal river kayaking with the manatees was awesome! But also loved Homosassa Animal Rescue. Highly recommended

The house was just as described! The location was perfect for us, close to our relatives. The only suggestion I would have is to put some window shades in the room with the twin beds.

Amazing location for easy access boat ramp at mcRaes and local restsurant/pubs. Access to kayaks and utv was soo helpful. Host was responsive to all questions and within short time. Kitchen fully loaded. Only downfall is 1 shower for 6 females.

We stayed here with our 4 kids: 9, 10, 12, 13yo. We had a great stay. The location on the river was great. My kids fished (didn’t catch anything, but had fun), all 6 of us ventured out in the kayaks. We went out into the Homosassa River & across to Crump’s Landing for lunch. It was a very easy paddle. The beds were soft & comfortable. There are no ac/heat vents in the room with the two twin beds. It got a little chilly at night, but my 12 & 13 boys didn’t care one bit. We also visited Crystal River to take a kayak tour to see the manatee, the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park, Fort Island Trail Park for fishing, and Weeki Wachee kayaking where we saw many more manatee. Overall it was a great trip & the house is in a great location! We would like to come back to the area in the summer!

This was my second time staying at Doe Key Stilt. House is as described and is immaculate. Host is very timely with responses to questions. I recommend this home if you are looking to rent in Homossasa.

Our family of seven could not have had a better trip. The house was amazing and at a perfect location. The kids caught a bunch of fish in the canal behind the property and the porch area was awesome to sit and hang out. There are cool local restaurants minutes away. The Freezer has the best steamed shrimp we ever had. We booked a scalloping trip that was perfect and visited the local springs. We would 100% book this place again. The hosts were friendly and accommodating and even worked with us to find a watch left behind.

The host responded immediately at each time we reached out, and was helpful with her replies. The property was exactly as described and was the perfect match for our family. We came for scalloping and Homosassa did not disappoint. The host gave insight into the public boat ramp, and the use of the mule made local transportation easy. Awesome stay, great host, beautiful family friendly property. Would stay again!

Loved it!

Originally our family was hesitant to get in the canal. I am so glad we finally got in and kayaked out to the river. It was a blast! We loved the local restaurant, the Freezer for dinner. The Florida Cracker was delicious for breakfast. Cash is king! Doe Key was a great escape. We had an awesome time.

Had a great time with family! Fishing was hard to get line in water due to trees but like the shade! but we fished in the kayaks and had a great time!!

I have stayed in several air bnbs, all over the country,and this is hands down the BEST place I have ever stayed! We saw cranes, several types of birds, including a huge owl, fish, an alligator, and other several reptiles! Loved just sitting on the deck. The mule was such a treat and a favorite to run to the small store or to get ice cream. Can't wait to come back!

We had a fantastic stay at the Doe Key! The house was very clean, nicely decorated and well stocked with amenities. The side by side was a PERFECT bonus to enjoy all of the nearby bars and restaurants. We enjoyed sitting on the outdoor deck every evening! There were a few quirks that we noticed. They weren’t deal breakers for us but other people may want to consider them. First, the only access to the toilets is through the bedrooms. This is a little awkward if you have all adults sharing the space. A second half bath or even an outdoor facility would be a great addition! Second, the pictures make the yard appear much larger than it actually is. It would be difficult to fit a full size truck, trailer and/or camper in the yard. Third, the air conditioner system seems to have a mind of its own or is controlled remotely because it was either freezing cold or very warm at really odd times. Otherwise, we LOVED every minute of our stay and will definitely return!!!

This was our second stay at Doe Key and we will continue to return. The house and property is beautiful and private, while being close to everything you need in Old Homosassa. I would highly recommend staying here!

This house is Homosassa’s best find. We loved the clean spacious home, the private outdoor space and the lovely deck space. Having the canal was an added treat as was enjoying all the wildlife in the trees that surrounded the property. We took the Mule out a couple of times and felt like we were one of the locals. We are looking forward to renting the house again. Thanks to Jennifer and Susan for being awesome hosts.

Doe Key was a fantastic little getaway right on the water in Homosassa, FL. We came down for a birthday diving trip and had plans to dive in Rainbow River and swim with manatees. Doe Key was the perfect location for all of our activities. The house was clean, comfortable, and we felt right at home during our stay. Absolutely would return to stay at Doe Key for a future trip, and would highly recommend!

Ten stars, reminds me of the golden age of Airbnb when it was still real people renting out cool places to stay at a reasonable price. The kayaks, river access, and UTV were a ton of fun. Could have stayed even longer. With any luck we will be back to do more manatee excursions.

Everything was just great. We felt like home at Your place! We spend a lovely time in Homosassa city, there was so much to do and to sea. We spend a lot of time kayaking and watching wild animals.

My husband and I enjoyed our week here a lot. We also brought our pup with us that loved running laps around the house. We loved it was fully fenced in for her. There was plenty of room in the house for just the two of us and the area was quiet for the most part and peaceful. The house was thoroughly cleaned with the exception that there was some mildew on the shower liner that was a bit icky. Otherwise, we had a blast checking out the local areas and loved the house and its location.

Jennifer was a responsive, helpful and friendly host. We loved the house - it was perfect for our pre-holiday family get together with adult children. The easy access to the river and abundant kayaks was a huge plus. We've got several people with different dietary needs in our family, so the large and well appointed kitchen was totally appreciated.

I booked Jennifer’s home with a small group of friends. We absolutely loved it! The peaceful, quiet, secluded environment is a joy to experience. We felt like locals and were easily able to walk to all of the nearby bars and restaurants, such as: The Freezer and Florida Cracker. We enjoyed taking the kayaks out and the ATV was fun to get around in. Everything worked great, including the WiFi. Best of all our hosts were a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend booking here if you can!

Jennifers Airbnb is a beautiful tropical paradise. My family of 6 had plenty of room to spread out. The beds were cozy and the bedding was soft. We had plenty of towels. We have family in Brooksville and Inverness so, we didnt get to stay at Jennifers magical place as much as we would have liked because of leaving to visit family. ... But visiting them was wonderful too- especially knowing we had our airbnb to go back to.The airbnb was lots of fun! We rode the kayaks over to Monkey Island. On our way back we paddled over to Crumps tiki bar. Awesome time! Great drinks and food. The have outdoor seating with a playground- my daughters enjoyed playing on while we listened to live reggae music. We rode the Mule around the neighborhood and really wish we could have used it more... just not enough time during this trip. There are board games, bicycles, an enormous TV, lovely large covered porch, beautiful waterside dock/boatramp area, plenty of fishing poles (my daughter caught 2 fish within a few minutes!) While in Homosassa we drove to the State Park! Beautiful! While there we took a boat ride, looked at Florida's wilflife and an honorary hippopotamus, and we went under the water into a submerged viewing tank. That was an affordable adventure. Afterwards we drove over to Weechi Wachi to swim and get some sun at Pine Island. We saw a glorious sun set and a pod of dolphins. It was breathtaking. We honestly hated to leave and will definitely return in the future.

This property was exactly what my family needed. We used the kayaks to explore the area and had a blast! We used the large yard to play ball with the dog. The home had a plethora of games we played at night and listened to the owls on the lighted deck. We will for sure stay here again.

My family and I enjoyed our stay here very much. The property is beautiful and close to lots of great parks with so much to do. We loved the view and access to the river. My high school daughter and her friend absolutely LOVED driving the mule - it’s what sealed the deal for us. Wish we could have enjoyed the entire stay but hurricane Ian cut our time short. Maybe we will just have to come back again!

We had a great stay. The Airbnb included so many “extras” that made it like home. It was very clean and the beds were comfy! My daughter (13) thoroughly enjoyed driving the mule around the area. We did not get a chance to use the kayaks which were readily available. Overall, we recommend this place!

The house and location were very nice! Also, access to the side-by-side was fantastic. Just be forewarned that there is only one shower and the two toilets are only accessible through the two bedrooms. However, we’d happily stay there again!

This location is a comfortable, quiet retreat with a beautiful view of the river. The patio contains outdoor fans which makes it the perfect location to spend time with friends or family. The house has beautiful furnishings and is located next to a state park and multiple restaurants. For restaurants, I would recommend Mango Tango or a cuban from Museum Cafe.

If you are looking for the perfect little river getaway, this is the place for you. The property is exactly as described. The home is beautiful, updated, and very clean. The beds were so comfortable, we slept great entry night. The use of the kayaks and UTV were an added bonus. We took the UTV to The Freezer every night for their amazing boiled shrimp and clam chowder. The Florida Cracker Kitchen is in driving distance and has great breakfast as well. The AC works great and keeps the house very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a meal or make mixed drinks (2 nice blenders). The next time we are in town if Doe Key is available, we will be staying here again. If you want to have a wonderful vacation, Doe Key is the place for you. We had no issues and had a wonderful time in this little piece of paradise.

My husband and I spent a week at the house with our son and daughter in law. Took our 2 dogs and our two jet skis. House is in a private setting, yet close to everything. Lovely porch to sit and have cocktails and added bonus of watching the resident owls in the yard. Make sure that if there is a particular restaurant you want to go to you check their hours- Lots of them are closed different parts of the week. We put our jet skis in at the boat ramp (it used to be free so make sure you pay the nominal $10.00 so you don't get a ticket) and had no problem navigating through the bridge, so we were able to keep them docked the whole time at the house. The mule was a lot of fun-saw lots of deer and even a manatee eating in one of the canals. The beds were very comfy as noted by several other reviews. You feel very comfortable and relaxed at the home. Kitchen is equipped with just about anything you need. Neighbors were friendly and even gave us some bait to fish. The yard is fenced so the dogs had a lot of fun running around playing. Thank you, Jennifer! We will be back

This home is breathtaking! It's right on the river and the beds are so comfortable! I celebrated my birthday with my best friend and our friends here and it was amazing. The area is quiet and peaceful and the neighbors are nice. Jennifer was very quick to respond and answer our questions. Thank you so much for the amazing stay!

Our time at Doe Key was great. The porch alone makes this place perfect. I liked that we were close enough to walk to grab a coffee or dinner but still felt very secluded. The kitchen was very well supplied for cooking. We’d love to stay again soon!

We had a nice and relaxing time at The house! From booking to exit, Jennifer was a great host and communicated quickly. The map provided was perfect as it can be slightly challenging finding the place. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The house is well equipped and stocked. We didn’t use the kayaks or the golf cart but everything was easily accessible. As everyone noted, the two main beds were super comfy. The extra room with the singles can be a bit hot but as instructed, if you leave the doors open, it cools off. The only suggestion I have is to add blinds to that room for a darker sleeping experience. We enjoyed the outdoor patio in the afternoon with no mosquito problems at all!! The grounds are well lit at night which is super helpful if coming in late. If you love a river experience, the house is well located and has what you need. Lighting inside the house is a bit dimmer that pictured but there are plenty of lamps to help brighten the place.

I really wanted to leave a positive review for Jenifer’s place. The location was good and the house was decently clean, but a camera looking across the living room where my family and I just wanted to sit and relax in privacy was not expected and seems completely unnecessary and inappropriate. We did cover the camera after we noticed it, but we had no way of knowing if it had audio. I’m perfectly fine with cameras outside. That makes sense. However, I would never expect a camera in a hotel room, so I see no reason to expect one in an ABnB. If you’re fine with the invasion of privacy or if Jenifer decides to remove the camera, then you’ll probably enjoy your stay. Unfortunately, that was not the case for us.

Were looking for quick weekend get away to celebrate anniversary. Wanted to brings the pups along. We loved the area, the springs, manatees, the food, but our house was by and large the best part. Everything needed at your fingertips. The property was beautiful, seemed never ending. Our dogs loved it, I don't know that I have ever seem them play that hard. I'm confident when they hear vacation, they are hoping we are going back to Doe Key. Extremely easy entry, check-in and check-out, very safe feeling, can close the gate behind ya. Jennifer was easy to reach. Highly recommended.

Very nice place! Roomy, comfy couch and mattresses. And loved all the decorations. The porch and ability to kayak right out of the backyard were wonderful.

We spent most of our trip outdoors, but the time that we did have back at the house was very relaxing and comfortable. We loved having access to the kayaks & very convenient for water access. The little cart is perfect to get to a bite to eat that’s close by the house. Overall , perfect!

Very comfortable snd well set up for two couples or a family. We had fun with the mile and the kayaks. Nice stay!

Everything was great at Doe Key! The location, the amenities and the kayaks! We drove the mule to the Monkey Bar to have drinks and watch the sunset, and did a manatee excursion just up the road. The neighborhood was pedestrian friendly and the area had plenty to keep us busy.We had a really nice time and hope to come again!

Things we loved….indoor area was spacious and comfy, having access to the river, access to a golf cart and kayaks, restaurants and things to do near by. Favorite restaurant was Margarita Grill which was recommended by the owner. ( we went 3 times and tried something different each day). We would recommend renting a boat with River Safaris. Things we would have liked….better lighting outdoors. Having the porch, fire pit area and outdoor space under the house be more inviting. Overall, We would stay here again.

The house was in a fantastic location, quite and tons of nature around you. It was clean and easy to find everything. The golf cart was fun to ride around in. When we had a question Jennifer was very responsive and nice. I highly recommend her place, we will definitely be going back.

Place was great had everything you need for a family trip. Location was perfect peace and quiet far away from the city. We enjoyed kayaking and fishing and just enjoying all of the nature around us. We got to see deers and manatees it was just what we needed.

Fantastic place! There are wonderful eating options within easy walking distance from the home. If you want to cook at home the kitchen has everything you need and plenty of space to prepare a delicious meal. We spent 3 of days canoeing/ kayaking in the region and found the house a relaxing place to return to each evening.

Jennifer’s House had everything you need for vacationing. The house is super clean! She has tons of dishes, pots and pans, and utensils if you want to cook. Also there are many board games, a computer, and Tour guide books. The three kayaks were super handy to be able to use right in the backyard as well as the mule. The porch was really beautiful and serene to relax and eat or just have a cup of coffee. It was really a restful experience!!

My husband and I, and our little dog Sammy, absolutely loved our stay at Jen’s awesome home. The location was beautiful, with tons of old Florida charm. Loved it!!!!The house itself is updated beautifully with a nice furniture, fabulous couch, huge TV set and comfortable beds. One night I slept on the porch, just to savor the Florida ambiance. The bedrooms, had memory foam mattresses… I drifted off to sleep almost immediately. This area has many wonderful seafood restaurants nearby, even walking distance. Check out Yelp. Other activities we enjoyed was a boat charter. Jen, our host was super! We didn’t have problems, but we had a couple questions and she was super responsive. Also love the fact she has kayaks and an ATV available for guests. The home has its own kayak launch and fish cleaning station. The place looks like the photos! We’ll be back! Thanks Jen! We enjoyed our stay in this unique home & peaceful setting in such a convenient location with many activities in walking distance. Everything was nice and clean when we arrived and the home smelled good. The beds are some of the most comfortable we’ve found in our AirBNB stays. We explored the springs at Three Sisters and Homossossa Springs as well as a hike on the Salt Marsh Trails. The Freezer had excellent seafood and The Starting Gate amazing breakfast. Both were very near the home.

Great location and perfectly comfortable, well-appointed accommodations. Plenty of places nearby to rent a boat for scalloping, and endless water to explore by kayak. Our favorite paddling was in the salt marsh creeks off the river, and finding the lookout tower at the Crystal River Wildlife Refuge Complex Trailhead kayak launch.

Doe Key is a wonderful, quiet, quaint home! We loved the games, the porch seating with fans overlooking the water and the amazing kitchen and family room! It was so spacious. The appliances were even top notch. The beds were comfortable, and it was great having a bed for everyone! The kayaks and the landing to launch were perfect. We loved using the mule to go up to Macraes. Everyone in the town is so nice.

Home was awesome and so was the owners. We had a blast and will deff be spending next year here!

Awesome stay at Doe Key Stilt! My family had a great time on the river. The home is in a great location and has everything you could possibly need….a huge living room and fully stocked kitchen, tons of board games, new movies and shows, lots of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The Mule was a blast and got us around to all the nearby spots. It was only short drive to Crystal River and Weeki Wachee. Highly recommend Jennifer for her hospitality and excellent communication before and throughout our stay. We’ll be back!

Wonderful place to stay, great location for going out boating, especially if you have your own boat as it makes it easy to launch at McRae's and then bring the trailer back to the house and take the mule back to the dock and not have to pay for parking trailer. I would say that this fits 6 people more comfortably unless you bring air mattress or someone sleeps on couch. Very well stocked for everyday supplies that you don't want to have to bring with you (some basic toiletries, cooking pans and utensils, spices, etc) which makes it much easier. Jennifer was great to work with as well! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Doe Key! The location was perfect for us, a little off the beaten path but still close to all the action. This home was absolutely amazing and would recommend it for everyone! We were able to fit 4 adults and 5 children very comfortably. There is almost everything you could possibly need already there. The house is secluded just enough but just a short drive to anything you could neee! The kayaks and Mule we such a huge plus! There were even bikes so the kids could ride them around! Best vacation we have had in a while!! We will definitely be back!

Our stay at Doe Key was just as expected and we thoroughly enjoyed everything the location and amenities had to offer! The beds were s (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) comfortable I slept like a rock and I am pretty picky 🙂 The location is wonderful and we loved having access to the mule/ATV and kayaks. Definitely make sure you get a fishing charter or a local guided boat cruise while you are here, the river and gulf waters just outside of Old Homosassa are amazing! If you enjoy the outdoors, love being on the water and enjoy barefootin' at the bar, you will love Doe Key and Old Homosassa! We will definitely be back 🙂

had a wonderful time! house was close to restaurants and bars. built a fire in fire pit for wiener and marshmallow roast. easy to get to river from canal. we brought our own bikes and paddle boards but there were nice bikes and kayaks there to use. plenty of towels, soaps, and shampoo. fridge is huge if you want to stock up! laundry was convenient and large capacity. loved playing the ring toss game on outdoor porch, addicting...lol! mule was fun just to run down to the shed or the monkey bar! just a nice relaxing place to hang and have family drop by

My husband and I had a nice stay at Doe Key. It was great to be able to go kayaking right out of the back yard. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the birds and other animals along the canal. Jennifer made sure we had everything we need ahead of our arrival and was responsive. The house was clean, the beds were comfy, and we had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. We cannot ever say enough about this place. I needed a place to relax and I found it. Jennifer is amazing and has now become an honorary Family member. The kids went gator spotting at night in the Mule, and kayaked during the day. We sat on the deck and watched the little gator we named Lola swim by. Stay here and you will leave at peace as we will. We had a fabulous time celebrating our daughter's 4th birthday on the river. The home is beautiful and an easy paddle out to the homosassa river. The children's bed space did get a little warm, even with the doors open, but not so much that we couldn't use it. Jennifer was super responsive and easy to work with.

Amazing gem by Crystal River and Homosassa Springs. Quiet old Florida feel. As life long Floridian, I felt right at home and my family enjoyed all the amenities.

This place was great and our boys (4 and 2) had a BLAST! Very spacious and lots to do for two rambunctious boys. Also very clean and easy to find anything we needed. As a parent, I like to leave reviews for questions other parents might have. For one, there is no bathtub. This was fine for us, but might be an issue for others. The rooms are kind of spread far apart. Our almost four yr old slept on the sun porch in one of the twin beds but that was kind of far (for us at least) from the master and my husband ended up sleeping out there with him. He did not recommend the mattresses for a grown adult. The 4yr old had no complaints! The golf cart was an amazing amenity that seriously made the weekend for us. The kids LOVED IT. When we first arrived, the water was very low, but by the time the kids were in bed, it had filled back up and my husband caught a couple of catfish, saw a gator, an owl, a raccoon, and quite a bit of other wildlife! The only reason I took one star off was because the photos are quite photoshopped (it’s just not as light bright and airy as pictured), and taken with a fish eye lens that gave a slightly different depiction of how I thought the place was set up. Otherwise, our weekend was great and we look forward to coming back. I am also interested in checking out Jennifer’s other property nearby!!!

Great stay! The weather and the tides did not cooperate to let us do much kayaking but the house had all the amenities you could need. Really enjoyed the fire pit, many games provided, and sitting on the gated deck. My 2 dogs had fun in the gated yard and it was a great space to spend time with our teenagers. Wifi worked great for the couple of online school classes everyone needed to finish.

Jennifer’s place was great! Beautiful space, adventure in the backyard, games for inside, full kitchen, comfortable beds - we had a wonderful time! We took her recommendations and went kayaking at Weeki Wachee and went with Explorida to swim with the manatees and it made for such a memorable and fun vacation. Thanks!

Doe Key Stilt House is CLEAN, spacious, comfortable and has plenty of the touches we appreciate in an Airbnb: coffee, toiletries, a well appointed kitchen and great beds. We enjoyed the kayaks despite some rainy events. We particularly enjoyed the deck and watching the blue heron dance across the yard. Close to everything Homosassa has to offer. We enjoyed and recommend: Wild Sassa Taco Truck, Shelly's Seafood (local grouper was delicious), and the Seagrass Pub & Grill for dining on the river. We visited the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park and shopped for local artisan wares at Pepper Creek Pottery. Jennifer was responsive to questions and friendly. Highly recommend!

I cannot recommend this place enough!! Jennifer’s location is central to everything in Homosassa, but what make it spectacular are the amenities. She thought of absolutely everything for her guests. We were able to enjoy time as a family in the open floor plan house, and utilize the game’s she provided. We used the kayaks to see manatees and even took the mule to see the monkeys just down the street on Monkey Island. The quality of the beds made for an amazing nights sleep as well. This was our second trip to Homosassa, and this time was hands down better because of this amazing Airbnb location. We will be recommending it to all of our friends and absolutely visiting again. This little home away from home was just what our family needed in order to relax and escape from the real world.

This place lives up to its rave reviews and Jennifer is a super responsive host. We kayaked up to monkey island and watched the monkeys awhile. A manatee rubbed it's back on my daughter's kayak, which was exciting. The UTV was fun for checking out the immediate area. Would stay again for sure!

I cannot say enough amazing things about this property. We loved every minute of our stay here. Homosassa is so unlike other places. We especially enjoyed being able to launch kayaks right out the door into the canal, hearing owls at night and exploring the "tropical" neighborhood.

Beautiful place to stay and fully equipped home. Very peaceful and quiet residence. Jennifer is extremely prompt with responses and offers great tips/suggestions based on your expectations. Very grateful for allowing us to experience her piece of paradise. Tip: Can be difficult to find at first so would suggest arriving before dark.

We had an excellent stay at Doe Key. It was clean, comfortable, and had every amenity we could ever need. We were able to prepare meals there as the kitchen was stocked with pans, utensils, and even spices. The beds were super comfy and the big theater-style couch in the living room was a great place to relax after a day of adventuring. Jennifer was excellent in answering questions for us. Doe Key is this incredible gem hidden in what my husband and I joked “residential woods”. It’s gorgeous, sparkling clean and has everything you could need. I took a nap or two on the outside hammock, my husband and his brother went fishing for most of the weekend right from our backyard! Between the kayaks, fire pit and cozy feel of the house, we loved it since we arrived. It also helps that it’s a HUGE venue for the price. Thanks again, Jennifer, for not only letting us stay here, but for letting us get married here as well!

Jenn’s place is a wonderful, spacious, and private paradise! It is very well equipped and stocked. You will have everything you need for a relaxing vacation. We used the provided kayaks to explore the area seeing an abundant mix of wildlife. (Alligators, fish, dolphins, and manatees). We took the “Mule” (UTV) to a local restaurant one night (with outdoor seating). We also utilized the well stocked kitchen to cook many meals as well. Jenn was very responsive in her reply’s and did a fantastic job communicating overall. You cannot go wrong renting Jenn’s place at Doe Key! We will definitely be back!

Great place to stay, close to everything. Right now because of Covid I guess all the boats were 6 people max to see the manatees. So we did not do that but we still had a great time.
